Practically all the HDB housing estates are packed. Perhaps only the Holland Road and Dover ones are not as bad as most of the others, from what I can recall. As for malls, OC, Tanglin Mall and Milenia Walk have the most shoulder and elbow room, and I like them the most.

I love Tanglin Mall.

with 5 million and counting souls on a tiny red dot, there won't be any uncrowded places left in singapore anymore, unless you camp inside the catchment reserve.

yeah sadly. We don't even need that many people too. Or rather I think we need better quality and not go for quantity.

over-crowding doesn't make for a nice home.

I love Tanglin Mall.

Ahhh Tanglin Mall... Home to the pub "Anywhere" and the fabulous authentic jap resturant "Nirai Kanai"...

The resturant mostly have japs as customer and both the head chef and boss are japanese from Okinawa... But their speciality dish is "Fried bittergourd" ... I also like their working Tshirt... I still have 1 somewhere but I lost it when I moved house...

dover's headed for redevelopment, the commonwealth flats would be going going gone soon, and the mcdonald's side are going to see new high rises sprouting up.

I must be getting old .... I find myself preferring the beach to the shopping malls nowadays .......

I don’t like the beach coz most of the time the ocean breeze stinks

And I don’t like the sun either because it gives me freckles

I do however enjoy going to Coffee Club outside Borders for breakfast on a Sunday morning than head over to Borders than Kino

If I don’t do that it’s basically cleaning up after my pets and they do give me lots of joy btw

The ironical thing between MPB and me is that he is the outdoorsy type who loves all the outdoor stuff whereas to me the sun is my enemy and I rather get myself lost in some game.

In a way it kind of work out because both of us like our own space so when he is out male bonding with fellow ‘hunters’, I get my quiet time so I don’t lose my sanity.

but I loathe to take her to the more ulu places cos I worry for her, what's with all the mozzies, mud, dirty, lack of toilets etc ....

The ironic thing is that most females have issues handling dirty filter media covered with fish poo but if you ask me to go through mud and dirty toilets I can’t bring myself to do that. I have no issues grabbing tubifax worms with my bare fingers but roughing out is a no no. Go figure.

ahahahahahahahahaha, that's the thing ! .....

she's backpacked across many cities alone before, and had encounters from north american ghettos that turns me pale ..... she's tells me about places in vancouver she's went to whom vancouverites specifically tells me never to venture into .....

but she's never camped outdoors in her life before .... even when she was trekking in nepal, she slept in a lodge each night .... go figure ...

Well I think it’s the tolerance level of what you term basic accommodation.
MPB have been on holidays with his friends and stayed in cheap hotels which he said I would freak out because of the state the toilet is in etc. I also think part of me not being a tree hugger or dirt lover is due to my allergies. If I’m travelling to places like even Sydney during Spring/Summer, I will have to see the doctor for medication and shots because flying pollen is really not my friend and dirt I think will just cause me to break out into hives -_-“

men has a much higher tolerance threshold. I suppose the army helped a bit. After you've slept on a muddy jungle floor with nothing over your head and rain falling onto your face and worn the same pair of underwear for 10 days at a stretch, there's not much accoms you can't take, really

no one i know of can beat my sis. she absolutely refuses to stay in anything other than a 4* and up accomodation and quote my BIL "she must go to developed countries only". e.g. walking on the streets of vietnam.
